Sometimes still pictures don’t fully capture the experience. These are some of my favorite videos I have taken of my undersea friends.

Manta Night Dive
The crew on the boat shined a bright light off of the back of our boat to attract plankton; the manta came to eat the plankton. This was actually during my safety stop as I was surfacing at the end of the dive.
Snorkeling with Manta Rays
Hanifaru Bay is a protected site in The Maldives: no scuba diving allowed. I had the privilege to snorkel with a plethora of manta rays during my dive trip to The Maldives in 2024. The mantas would swim right up to you and were very playful, showing off swimming in loop-de-loops or flying past you only inches from your face.
Guitar Shark
We encountered this shark swimming along the ocean floor our first day diving the live aboard in The Maldives.
Turtle in The Maldives
We woke this turtle up and he was just looking for a quiet place to take a nap. The coral reef was filled with life and the most colorful schools of reef fish.
Manta Night Dive
The crew on the boat shined a bright light off of the back of our boat to attract plankton; the manta came to eat the plankton. We lined our dive lights on the ocean floor shining straight up like a runway attracting plankton bringing in the mantas to feed.
White Tip Reef Shark
Swimming with a white tip reef shark in The Maldives.
Hammerhead Shark
Every year schools of hammerhead sharks swim just off the coast of Yonaguni Island, south of Okinawa Japan. While searching for a big school, we found a lone hammerhead shark that swam right up to our group to check us out, and on close inspection he decided he wasn’t interested and swam off.
Frogfish
This is probably the largest frogfish I have ever seen. He lives on the reef off of Manza in Onna.
Green Sea Turtle
We found this sea turtle in the Kerama Islands. It was very laid back and happy to swim with us.
Grey Reef Shark
Diving in The Maldives, we literally held on to a rock wall to keep from being carried away by the current as these grey reef sharks swarm closer and closer to check us out.
Octopus
I found this octopus during our safety stop at the dive site Toilet Bowl at the cliffs at Manza in Okinawa Japan. When I found him he was totally camouflaged; the only part visible was one of his arms. As I followed the arm to see what it was, I found an eye watching me carefully. As I started taking pictures, he began to change color, texture, and crawl across the coral.
White Tip Reef Sharks
You can usually find three to four white tip reef sharks sleeping during the day in a cave swim through at Mermaid’s Grotto, just south of the cliffs at Manza in Onna.
Flamboyant Cuttlefish
Night dive at Jam off of the Kadena Sea Wall. Flamboyant cuttlefish like to put on an amazing light show flashing and rippling their colors and lights.
Cuttlefish Hunting Prey
Night dive at Gorilla Chop, north of Nago in Okinawa Japan This cuttlefish was hunting prey and found a late night snack..
