My Favorite Dive Sites

I consider myself lucky to live in Okinawa surrounded by beautiful coral reefs, abundant and vibrant sea life, and warm waters we can dive year round. These are some of my favorite dive sites in Okinawa.

Mermaid’s Grotto

Mermaid’s Grotto is a beautiful dive site just south of the cliffs at Manza in Onna, Okinawa Japan. There are beautiful corals as well as reef fish, white tip reef sharks, octopus, eels, and sea turtles. Watch out for the currents as they can become dangerous to diver and snorkelers.

Toilet Bowl

Toilet Bowl is one of the dive sites along the cliffs at Manza, in Onna. The site gets its name from the bowl shape cut into the cliffs. The bowl has a ledge surrounding it where divers can step off into about 20 feet of water. Swimming out of the bowl, past the cliffs, the depth drops quickly to the left to over 150 feet. To the right, there are beautiful coral reefs home to sea turtles, moray eels, octopus, cuttle fish, and beautiful reef fish.
